Rocky Ridge Cabin I, located down the road about 2 acres before Cabins II and III.
Rocky Ridge I has an extra large open deck, 2 bedrooms, a living room with a large stone fireplace, kitchen, two screened in porches and a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. The Master Bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second bedroom has two twin size beds. Spend lazy days relaxing on the hammock in one of the screened in porches or enjoy picturesque mountain views while dining from the deck or screened in porch.
Recreational Activities
Swimming, Boating, Fishing and Golfing:
You are welcome as guests of the Rocky Ridge Cabins to swim, boat and fish in the lake. There are two nearby public golf courses at The Woods Resort on Mountain Lake Road.
Hiking:
There are short walking trails behind “The Chalet” Cabin. Within walking distance of the cabins, there is a walking or Dirt Bike trail where you can hike for hours on this trail. Also you can explore the 23,000 acres of trails and woods in The National Preserve Area behind all three of the cabins.
Winter Getaways: Please note this property is located in hilly, mountainous terrain, during winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. During snowy conditions, secondary roads normally melt and are clear through the day and then re-freeze as the temperature drops in the afternoon hours, please keep this in mind when traveling.
Snow policy: During a snow fall event, driveways and secondary roads are not kept open and are not plowed until the snow has stopped. Also due to the rural conditions of the area, it may take time to get all of the driveways plowed. The contractors who plow driveways also are dependent on the secondary roads being cleared before driveways can be plowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your winter getaway and pack extra food items.

My husband and I enjoyed Friday evening through Sunday morning in this lovely get-away. We have spent about eight autumn weekends here over the years- usually including Thanksgiving with our two sons. I love the quiet solitude of the woods, especially when captured from the screened porch. This had become a home-away-from-home for our family. The fireplace and comfy couches are so inviting and meals around the expandable dining table produced memories of much laughter. It was during a Scrabble game at the
Table we discovered our younger (college age) son did not know what the word ‘consonant’ meant. He was ‘out that day.’

We had a lovely mini-honeymoon weekend in this adorable cabin. We happened upon the Apple Butter Festival unknowingly and that turned out to be a good time too. Wish we had learned about this place sooner as we leave Washington for Florida all too soon.

We love this cabin! It was nice and cozy and away from all the noise. We woke up to a nice sunrise every morning, and enjoyed the screened-in porch. We went for bike rides and walks around the lake and enjoyed just sitting around the cabin. My family and I loved the wide porch, and we were able to make our famous hamburgers. We hope to come back again.

Quiet, secluded, and peaceful! This was a great place to come rest, relax, and rejuvenate. We enjoyed the beauty of the woods with visits from a doe and two fauns, we loved that. There are so many trails to travel. My husband and I came to get away from it all and this was the perfect place!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet and lovely setting. Our weekend was very hot, so we appreciate the air conditioning. We saw a fox this morning. A storm came through last night and the power blinked several times. We couldn’t find a flashlight. The power stayed on, but we would’ve been in darkness had it gone out. Otherwise, everything we needed was here. Enjoyed the beach with its cool white sand and the lake and also had a nice hike towards Devil’s Nose. We also stopped by Harper’s Ferry on the way here and kayaked with the River Riders. Fun, but the water levels were low this time of year. Would be super fun in Spring or Fall! All in all, an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:
All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.

There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:
Strip all beds that were used during your stay and please leave linens next to bed that was used.
If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
