Winter Getaways: Please note this property is located in hilly, mountainous terrain, during winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. During snowy conditions, secondary roads normally melt and are clear through the day and then re-freeze as the temperature drops in the afternoon hours, please keep this in mind when traveling.

Snow policy: During a snow fall event, driveways and secondary roads are not kept open and are not plowed until the snow has stopped. Also due to the rural conditions of the area, it may take time to get all of the driveways plowed. The contractors who plow driveways also are dependent on the secondary roads being cleared before driveways can be plowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your winter getaway and pack extra food items.

My husband and I just got married back home in Newfoundland, Canada and decided to do a road trip with our dogs back to where we are living in Houston, TX. We found this little treasure online and was happy to see it was pet friendly! We took full advantage of the hot tub and late night camp fires. The dogs loved playing in the creek and all the smells the area had to offer. We ate at Lot 12 in town and had one of the best meals ever! Thanks for opening up your doors so we could enjoy a serene and relaxing honeymoon. We hope to come back in the future.

Came here to relax after a few very busy months for our honeymoon. We have come to Berkeley Springs a few times before, but just now discovered this treasure. I would love to have spent some time on the front porch, but found the deck, screened in porch, hot tub and view too intoxicating. Waking up to the sun gently illuminating the trees was sheer pleasure. My husband did manage to catch some small bass and sunfish about 50 yards up stream. There hasn’t been any rain for a while so the river was very low. An annoying bird wanted to join many of our conversations during the day, but went to sleep at night. The evenings were incredible. We cooked out on the deck and ate in the screened in porch. We played Yatzie and read an excellent book while my husband fished. Lying in the hot tub with the ceiling of stars was magical. The weather was great, and we were completely alone until the last night when the neighbors arrived. It was truly an enchanting and relaxing time.

Wonderful time, loved the hot tub, the swings were a peaceful place to visit. Amazing area with the deck overlooking the creek. Unfortunately we ran into an excessive amount of bugs, will definitely bring more citronella next time. One of the best cabins we have been to – which is saying a lot!

We had a great time at Sleepy Creek Retreat. It was all that we had hoped for and much more. Our beagle scout and the rest of our family had a great time exploring the creek and had fun walking around. Everything was so pretty and we had a nice BBQ and fire afterwards in the fire pit. We also had fun at Cacapon swimming and paddle boating. We are really looking forward to coming back in the future. The view was beautiful and the screened in porch was so nice to sit in for anytime of day. The creek was a little to low to fish, but we still had a nice time wading in the water. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time! Hope to see this cozy cabin again soon.

Absolute heaven! We enjoyed watching the ducks play everyday on the creek. We also enjoyed shooting our bows and putting in our kayaks everyday to explore the creek. Our 14 year old lab found her youth again and will sleep all the way home to New York. We appreciate all of your fine touches in the home in making our stay even more comfortable and luxurious.

We loved the cabin and enjoyed relaxing without the kids. Loved the hot tub, fireplace, and the beds were so comfortable. Loved sitting on the front porch curled under a blanket while it rained, reading a book. So comfy and cozy and our beagle Tink loved everything as well.

Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:

1. All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
2. Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
3. Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
4. Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
5. Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
6. Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.

There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:

2. If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
3. Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
4. Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
5. Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
6. Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
7. Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
8. We are delighted to have you as guests, but please be respectful of our owners’ property.
