Winter Getaways: Please note this property is located in hilly, mountainous terrain, during winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. During snowy conditions, secondary roads normally melt and are clear through the day and then re-freeze as the temperature drops in the afternoon hours, please keep this in mind when traveling.

Snow policy: During a snow fall event, driveways and secondary roads are not kept open and are not plowed until the snow has stopped. Also due to the rural conditions of the area, it may take time to get all of the driveways plowed. The contractors who plow driveways also are dependent on the secondary roads being cleared before driveways can be plowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your winter getaway and pack extra food items.

Beautiful setting- the fall leaves near their peak and the calm river. It was crisp, but the rain held off during the day. We had fun at the Apple Butter Festival. It was just me (Janice) and Phil our family couldn’t make it. We enjoyed the hot tub and the wood burning stove. The tubes and fire pit looked tempting for a future visit. We enjoyed your home- thank you for sharing it.

I brought my son and daughter and grandchildren here for our last weekend vacation. We all loved the house, it couldn’t be any better. My grandkids loved the river and fishing off the deck. We enjoyed s’mores and mountain pies on the fire. I had arranged a scavenger hunt for the kids. They had a blast looking for acorns, leaves, twigs, etc. My brother and his wife stopped by for the day. We enjoyed the back deck and hot tub. Had a weekend full of memories. Thanks for the hospitality River Song!

Your home is beautiful and so relaxing. Our family had such a great time here. We had my grandparents, parents, uncle, sister, and I here. We went to River Riders yesterday and tubed down the rapids. We saw a bat in the bat box on the porch. My dad loved fishing and building fires. There were little fruits that kept falling from the trees. We caught a turtle and named him Wilson. We also got to float down the river in the tubes. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub. We are already making plans for next year!

This was our first time at River Song and we loved it! We are already planning our next trip back. We have a large family (me, my husband, our children, my mother, father-in-law, his girlfriend, and my sister-in-law). Everyone fit in nicely and loved the cabin. We all enjoyed the river and hot tub, my kids and mother tubed non-stop. We saw lots of deer, bird, turtles, and some snakes. I can’t wait to come back next year with the family. I’ve never had such a peaceful vacation before River Song!

Had a wonderful, but brief, stay at River Song. Enjoyed swimming fishing, canoeing, the hot tub, building fires, and hanging out on the deck. This morning Chris and I saw a Pileated Wood Pecker fly into a hole in the tree off the corner of the deck that houses the hot tub. There are four adults in this group, one tee, one tween, one child, and two toddlers. This house was a great fits for our bunch. We loved the gated deck! Already planning a return trip next year.

This is our second day here and we are having an amazing stay! We went to see the Paw Paw Tunnel today. All I can say is WOW! Got a day of horseback riding and skeet shooting planned tomorrow at Cacapon State Park. We are really enjoying ourselves. We did some fishing, swimming, tubing, and canoeing today. Loved It! Your home is very nice and the kids love it here. We are all having an exceptional time. We leave out Wednesday and we hate to leave, but enjoying every minute we have. I’m sure the next person or group will have great things to say as well. Hope to come back again sometime.

Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:

1. All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
2. Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
3. Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
4. Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
5. Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
6. Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.
7. Thank you so much for choosing Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding our pet policy.

There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:

1. Strip all beds that were used during your stay and please leave linens next to bed that was used.
2. If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
3. Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
4. Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
5. Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
6. Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
7. Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
8. We are delighted to have you as guests, but please be respectful of our owners’ property.
