“Enjoyed the River view and watching the geese” May 2010

We really enjoyed our three days at The River's Edge this past weekend. We are already thinking about returning sometime in the summer when the weather is a bit better for actually using the river. We had fine weather for hiking and just plain relaxing though and the cottage had everything we needed. Thanks for everything and hope to be in touch soon,

"It's Halloween! And we've just spent a great weekend here. The air is crisp and clean, the trees are wearing their fall coclors, the woods are so quiet it sounds like someone is walking in them as the leaves fall, rustling against each other. The view from the Panorama and the State park overview are breathtaking. We've so much enjoyed the clear blue sky from the hammock, the sunny river bank and th babbling river. We also were mezmerized by a warm, crackling bonfire and the brilliance of the multitude of stars in the deep black night. We saw a shooting star and loved seeing the Milky Way again. We also loved the spirit of the towns and many people dressing up for Halloween! It was a great way to celebrate my husband's birthday."

"Our family had a great time at River's Edge. We went horse-back riding at Coolfont and fishing. We also played in the river, it was great! The best part of the house is the spiral staircase. The upstairs bedrooms are great!

"We came to the River's Edge Retreat to be able to spend time with my sister who was on leave from the Middle East. She stayed in anoather cottage and had friends some & go through out the week. I stayed here with my husband and four of our six kids. We had a great time, enjoyed the stay and would love to come back in the fall or winter to enjoy the different seasons at the retreat. We didn't see any bear which was okay but saw deer and the other animals along the road to and from Berkeley Springs. Thanks for the great retreat!"

Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals is delighted to offer you pet friendly cottages so you can enjoy your vacation with your entire family (pets included). Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:

1. All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
2. Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
3. Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
4. Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
5. Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
6. Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.
7. Thank you so much for choosing Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding our pet policy.

There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:

1. Strip all beds that were used during your stay and please leave linens next to bed that was used.
2. If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
3. Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
4. Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
5. Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
6. Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
7. Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
8. We are delighted to have you as guests, but please be respectful of our owners’ property.
