Winter Getaways: Please note this property is located in hilly, mountainous terrain, during winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. During snowy conditions, secondary roads normally melt and are clear through the day and then re-freeze as the temperature drops in the afternoon hours, please keep this in mind when traveling.
Snow policy: During a snow fall event, driveways and secondary roads are not kept open and are not plowed until the snow has stopped. Also due to the rural conditions of the area, it may take time to get all of the driveways plowed. The contractors who plow driveways also are dependent on the secondary roads being cleared before driveways can be plowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your winter getaway and pack extra food items.

Rescheduling Policy:

As a precautionary measure for an emergency situation and due to insurance, liability and maximum occupancy issues; absolutely no additional guests are allowed. Renters are required to inform Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals of the total number of persons in your party and additional over party limit fees may be incurred.

Wonderful and cozy cabin! A great place to get away from it all (except for the presidential election results, which I just had to watch) I enjoyed being here alone for a quiet week of reading, writing, hiking, and overall relaxing. Cacapon State Park has some great hiking trails. If you’re looking for a massage, I highly recommend Frankie at Atasia.

My family needed one last mini-vacation before school and sports started up. Ode to Joy was the perfect little cabin for the four of us plus our French bulldog. We had a nice bike ride to the pool, and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not on our side and last night there was a horrible rain storm; thunder, wind, etc. It was quite severe and poor Berkeley Springs suffered horrible flooding. Many stores and restaurants were closed today due to flood damage. We did get to Cacapon State Park today for a hike. My husband chose to hike to the top, while the kids and I kept it shorter. We went to the main lodge and played ping pong and board games while we waited. We ate a Panorama at the Peak to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We were able to linger after dinner, playing backgammon until the storm passed. We also ate at Earth Dog Café, which was really good. All in all, a fun weekend despite all the wet weather.

This was our first cabin in the woods vacation! I couldn’t believe how clean and accommodating it was. This was a surprise get away for my boyfriend. He loved it. This cabin was perfect for us. We enjoyed walking around outside, cooking on the grill, and just sitting back in nature. Our busy and stressful lives we left behind to come here and it was much needed. Thanks soooooo much for the down time provided. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and will hopefully be back soon!!!
What started off as an episode of the Lucy Show, led into a lovely weekend here in the woods. After spending years at Coolfont Resort before it closed, I wasn’t sure what this would be like if it would still have that magical healing charm. But it does, and then some. Ode to Joy is indeed joyful- after the hustle of city life it was the refuge I wanted in the middle of nowhere. The best thing about this place is the quiet, the Jacuzzi, the screened-in porch and the majestic view of the woods. Would love to come back here in a heartbeat. The name of the cottage certainly lives up to itself.

Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals is delighted to offer you pet friendly cottages so you can enjoy your vacation with your entire family (pets included). Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:
All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.

Cottage Instruction for
Ode to Joy
There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:
Strip all beds that were used during your stay and please leave linens next to bed that was used.
If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
We are delighted to have you as guests, but please be respectful of our owners’ property.
