From them minute you head west on the 20-minute drive from Berkeley Springs, you begin to unwind, relax and enjoy the natural scenery and wildlife of the area.
Nestled in the foothills of the Cacapon Mountains, the Lazy K is a 3-bedroom log home that sits on nearly 11 acres with 300 feet of riverfront access on the beautiful Potomac River. Constructed in 2005, the house was designed to combine the feel of a rustic cabin along with the conveniences and comforts of modern living. The house features unique craftsmanship and rustic architectural elements including hand rails constructed from trees on the property, and an interior created almost entirely from salvaged lumber and materials. This is truly a one-of-a-kind log home.
Relax on the front porch swing, curl up with a good book in front of the fire, or head down to the river for a day of fishing, canoeing, or tubing. The easy river access is also a great spot for picnic or BBQ!
There are also plenty of things to do and see in the area: visit antique shops, a wine & outfitter store, golf courses, arts & craft stores, fairs and festivals, and easy drives highlighting the beautiful mountain scenery. Enjoy the backcountry towns, local shops and area people and can all be a part of your stay at Lazy K on the Potomac!
Winter Getaways: Please note this property is located in hilly, mountainous terrain, during winter months all wheel or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. During snowy conditions, secondary roads normally melt and are clear through the day and then re-freeze as the temperature drops in the afternoon hours, please keep this in mind when traveling.
Snow policy: During a snow fall event, driveways and secondary roads are not kept open and are not plowed until the snow has stopped. Also due to the rural conditions of the area, it may take time to get all of the driveways plowed. The contractors who plow driveways also are dependent on the secondary roads being cleared before driveways can be plowed. Please keep this in mind when planning your winter getaway and pack extra food items.

We’ve been enjoying our time at the Lazy K. What a beautiful home! We are amazed at how lovely the scenery is here, and it is nice to be somewhere so remote and peaceful. We have had perfect weather- chilly, but bright and sunny. The foliage is starting to get very colorful. Best of all, the temperature at night is perfect for the outdoor fireplace! The Family Reunion
August 26th, 2012
Following a yearly tradition, we were excited to come to West Virginia and Lazy K. We celebrated three birthdays this weekend with homemade cake, singing, laughter, music, and dancing. We hope the local wildlife enjoyed watching from afar, and hopefully the bears danced a little too. We appreciate all of the homey touches and comfortable furnishings- it was everything we knew it would be! The property offered endless pursuits and we have great memories of walking, swimming, star-gazing, and just catching up on the porch. In fact, we got so caught up in talking that we didn’t even get to many planned activities like canoeing, going to the springs, or even making s’mores in the fire pit. Memories we’ll have to make another time. Thank you so much for the perfect setting for our cherished reunion, the only time of the year we are ever all together. And West Virginia laid out gorgeous weather as a cherry on top.

We’ve had a great guy’s escape! The property has supplied us with great music, football highlights, and fishing. We took a trip to the Paw Paw Tunnel on our bikes and tried our hardest not to fall over the edge. The weather has been fantastic, although I wish it was a little colder to kill off the gnats. Thank you for your continued devotion to keeping the establishment in shape. We all hope to return soon!

Another great weekend over. It really went FAST! This year was West Virginia John, Virginia Darren, Jeremiah, Jim, and Jim from Pennsylvania. Leonard P. Grimm also made a guest appearance for a night. The river was really low, but the fishing was good. Lots of bass and sunfish. Darren got the biggest bass with a thirteen inch monster. Lots of good discussions in the sun room and many of the world problems are now solved. We made our annual journey to the Earthdog café and as usual, were not disappointed. Over all a great trip but it ended way too soon.

Despite numerous subtle references to the “cabin in the woods” horror movies and the Hunger Games, we all had a great time with our small group. No amount of flaky people dropping out of our getaway trip nor cold rainy weather could deter us! We braved the wild river current upstream with an impending storm, and the relaxed all that afternoon. After about fifty rounds of Apples to Apples we still were in good spirits. Time slows down indeed at the Lazy K. Many good memories, good food, drinks in our bellies, and a little romance.

Berkeley Springs Cottage Rentals is delighted to offer you pet friendly cottages so you can enjoy your vacation with your entire family (pets included). Our pet policy is listed below, there are individual cabin instructions in each cottage that will also assist you, please contact us if you have any questions:
All pets that are left unattended in the cottage must be tethered outside or kenneled (some cottages allow pets to be left unattended in the basement or garage areas, please see individual cottage Visitor’s Guide located at cottage).
Pet owners must scoop yard and place pet residue in trash bag in trash bin before departing cottage.
Please bring your pets' bedding, blankets, kennel and scooper (most cottages have a shovel in garage or utility room). The bedding and blankets that are located in the cottage are for our guests use only.
Please immediately report any pet damages or problems.
Please be respectful of our owners' property, we make an extended effort to offer pet friendly cottages and we appreciate our guests who also make an extended effort to ensure the cottage is left undamaged by pets.
Guests will be charged for any damages or extra cleaning due to pet owner negligence.

There are individual instructions and a Visitor's Guide in each cabin to assist you during your stay. We do ask our guests to do the following items before departing the cottage:
Strip all beds that were used during your stay and please leave linens next to bed that was used.
If laundry facility is available in cabin, please start a load of towels before departing.
Wash and put away all dishes before departing. If cottage has dishwasher, please ensure dishwasher is turned on before departing.
Ensure coffee pot is TURNED OFF before departing.
Place the lock box (with key) back on the outside door for our cleaning personnel.
Ensure all doors are locked and all windows are secured before departing.
Please report any damages, broken items or problems immediately.
We are delighted to have you as guests, but please be respectful of our owners’ property.
