More than 20,000 acres in two wildlife management areas provide opportunities for hunting everything from white-tailed deer to roaming flocks of wild turkey. There are both spring and fall seasons for various game. Hunting and fishing licenses are required of both residents and nonresidents 15 to 65 years of age. NEVER hunt on private land without permission! For more information, please contact the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area at 304-754-3855.

Located 12 miles East off Rt. 9 with 23,000 acres of wooded mountainous terrain and rolling basin land for the sports person.

Daylight hours seasonal- call for schedule. Sporting Clays range in a scenic, wooded area. Shooting supplies available and beginners programs.

Varying settings for fishing are found on the Potomac and Cacapon rivers, and area streams. Also the lakes at Cacapon State Park, Coolfont Resort and Sleepy Creek Wildlife Area have access to fishing. The Ridge Fish Hatchery breeds famous West Virginia trout used to stock local lakes. Sleepy Creek Lake has bass, sunfish, pike and crappie.

Rodeo fans can enjoy sanctioned events at the outdoor Triple B Arena along historic Sir Johns Run. Held on Sunday afternoons, activities feature team sorting, barrel racing and team roping. Occasional special events include country music concerts and full-scale rodeos.

Just an hour away from Berkeley Springs, is a small recreation area, The Cove, in Gore, VA.

Just 20 minutes away from Berkeley Springs. "It's no walk in the park." 18 mile circuit. Discover some of the best views and scenery of the forest on the ORV (Off Road Vehicle) trail. Be sure to display a Department of Natural Resources Off-Road Vehicle permit. Permits may be purchased at the visitor center.
